Project Management / Business Training Overview
Students will learn some advanced features of Microsoft Project 2000 and how to use Microsoft Project Central. This course meets the Microsoft Proficiency Guidelines for Microsoft Project 2000 at the Expert level.
Prerequisites
Microsoft Project 2000: Level 2, or equivalent knowledge.

Hardware / Software Requirements
- A Pentium 75-megahertz or higher processor.
- A minimum of 24 MB of RAM for Windows 95 or Windows 98. (For Windows 2000 or
- Windows NT Workstation 4.0 or later with Service Pack 3 or later, 40 MB of
- RAM; 64 MB of RAM for Windows 2000 is recommended.)
- A minimum of 50 MB of available hard-disk space.
- A CD-ROM drive.
- A VGA or higher resolution monitor. (Super VGA is recommended.)
- A Microsoft mouse, Microsoft IntelliMouse, or compatible pointing device.
- Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, or Windows NT 4.0.
- A custom installation of Microsoft Project 2000.
- An installation of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or later.
- Although printers are not required, you will need an installed printer driver.
- A classroom connection to the Internet.
- To use the Microsoft Project Central server software, you will need a computer with the
- same configuration as above, with the following exceptions:
- A Pentium 200-megahertz or higher processor.
- Windows 2000 Server or Windows NT Server 4.0 with Service Pack 4 or later, and Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack.
- A minimum of 128 MB of RAM.
- A minimum of 150 MB of available hard-disk space.
- See your reference manual for hardware considerations that apply to your specific hardware setup.
Performance-Based Objectives
Lesson objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Create and work with custom WBS codes and templates.
- Create and use custom forms.
- Evaluate data by using filtering and grouping techniques and working with reports.
- Administer Project Central, including working with user accounts and customizing.
- Navigate and work in Project Central.
- Work with categories and views in Project Central.
