    Lotus Training Overview

    Sametime lets you communicate with other people in different locations in real-time over the network or Internet and use its chat, presentation, audio, and video tools.

    During this course you learn how to use these key Sametime components:
    • Sametime Connect for the desktop
    • Sametime Meeting Room
    • Sametime Welcome Page
    • Sametime Meeting Center
    • Sametime Discussions.
    Lotus Training Course goals

    In this course, you will learn how to:
    • create and maintain a Connect List in Sametime Connect for the desktop
    • determine the online status of other people
    • change your online status
    • protect your privacy by allowing only certain people to know your online status
    • start Chat and Instant Meetings with one or more people
    • moderate a meeting using the Whiteboard and Screen Sharing Tools as well as the send a web page, poll people, change the moderator, and grant/revoke permissions
    • schedule a meeting that includes an uploaded presentation file
    • participate in a meeting and use the meeting room tools such as hand raising and chat
    • record a scheduled meeting and play it back using the playback client
    • participate in a Sametime Discussion, using its threaded topic and real-time features
    • use the Audio and Video tools during a meeting.
    Lotus Training Audience

    This course assumes basic personal computer and software skills, and is designed for individuals who can:
    • start and stop software applications in Microsoft® Windows™
    • perform basic Windows operations such as manage windows, cut and paste, drag/drop, etc.
    • use Microsoft Windows Explorer to find and organize files
    • use the Internet Explorer 5.01+ (SP2) or 5.5 (SP2) browser to open and navigate Web sites
    • use any type of email
    • create, format, and print documents using a graphical word processing software package
    • participate in a Domino Discussion database (either from a Browser or Notes).
    Course design

    This course combines concept presentations, demonstrations, and exercises to guide your learning. Though designed for instructor-lead classes, with the proper equipment and software individuals can also use this course for self-study.
