In this course, you will learn how to:

  • Create an Organizational Unit Certifier ID and configure it for ID/password recovery and alternate language names
  • Install, set up, and configure clients for single, multiple, and roaming users
  • Define explicit and organizational policies and Registration, Setup, Desktop, Archiving, and Security Settings policies
  • Create groups to manage Notes users in Server and database security access lists and mail addressing
  • Configure basic mail in a single-Server/single-Notes Network domain
  • Set mail database quotas and configure mail archiving
  • Counter virus and rogue code threats to the Notes client
  • Track active Notes client users to ensure license compliance
  • Upgrade Notes software using Upgrade By Mail and Notes Smart Upgrade
  • Deploy custom Welcome Pages, Bookmarks, and files using policies
  • Enforce passwords and password changes during User authentication
  • Use the Administration Process to automate user identity changes and to recertify expired certificates
  • Recover a lost User ID or forgotten password using Password Recovery
  • Solve Notes network connectivity problems and configure Notes to be used by remote and mobile users.
Lotus Training Audience

This course is part of a series of courses. Follow these paths to master all aspects of the Domino Server, Domino Administrator, and the administration of Lotus Notes and browser clients:

Courses later in the series assume that you have mastered the content of earlier courses.

This course is designed for Domino administrators who are responsible for supporting Lotus Domino Servers and Notes Clients and who are proficient Notes 6 users.

Though not required, it is recommended that you have also:

  • Installed and configured a Domino 6 Server
  • Taken the Lotus Domino 6 Administration Basics course or have the equivalent knowledge.
Parts of this course are also recommended for Help Desk employees, depending on their responsibilities. The primary course for Help Desk employees is the full 2-day presentation of the Lotus Notes 6 User Essentials course to gain an in-depth understanding of how Notes is used on a day-to-day basis.
