Overview:
This course will integrate a combination of instructor-led discussions and interactive workshops to illustrate the core abilities of BusinesObjects Dashboard toolset. This seminar will focus on the following topics: role of data visualization, usage of charts and graphs, static versus interactive data, use of filtered controls, interaction with Web Intelligence, mouse-overs and pop-ups, use of dynamic alerts, grouping and organizing, defining dashboard UI, connectivity issues and exporting and publishing
Audience:
This course is designed for individuals responsible for designing, developing and deploying dashboards in a BusinessObjects 4.0 environment.
Prerequisites:
Each student should have a basic of data warehousing concepts, experience with an RDBMS and knowledge of SQL language.
Objectives
Upon conclusion, each participant will have acquired these skills:
- Understand role and use of dashboards
- Illustrate the role of data visualization with pie charts, XY graphs, bubble charts, tree maps and combination charts
- Defining drill operations
- Use of filter selectors with hierarchies
- Illustrate ability for resetting your data
- Use of Play Selector and Play Controls
- Demonstrate use of what-if scenarios
- Illustrate dynamic visibility with multiple charts, popups and mouse-over buttons
- Define dynamic ranges for alerts and displaying various types of alerts
- Illustrate how to group and organize dashboard components
- Depict data insertion with Source Data component
- Illustrate manipulation of look and feel of a dashboard via themes, color schemes, panel and tab set containers
- Demonstrate use of Query as a Web Service
- Understand use of Universe queries
- Exporting to SWF, PDF, PPT and other common file formats
- Managing of third-party add-ons
