Overview

You have used GroupWise 7.0 to send email, schedule appointments, access the calendar, and schedule resources. You may want to use the advanced features of GroupWise 7.0 to share information and documents with other GroupWise users and access email and documents even when you are outside the GroupWise network. In this course, you will use the advanced features of GroupWise 7.0 to share information and documents with other GroupWise and non-GroupWise users. You will also access email and documents through a browser, and create and use rules to manage GroupWise resources.

Course Objectives

You will customize the GroupWise environment and share information and documents with other GroupWise and non-GroupWise users. You will also access GroupWise email and documents using WebAccess, and create rules to manage your mailbox and resource reservations.

Prerequisites

To ensure students' success with this course, we recommend that they take the following course: GroupWise 7.0: Level 1, or have equivalent knowledge.

Target Student:

Anyone who needs to learn how to use GroupWise 7.0 for creating and sending email and documents, managing tasks, scheduling appointments, and working with WebAccess.

Performance-Based Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • customize the GroupWise Mailbox and Calendar. You will add buttons to the GroupWise toolbar and create desktop shortcuts to directly access frequently used templates.
  • exchange instant messages with one or more GroupWise users in real time. You will also use discussion threads to participate in discussions with multiple users.
  • create and edit documents using an integrated application. You will also share documents with other GroupWise users and allow non-GroupWise users to view GroupWise documents using WebPublisher.
  • create and assign tasks. You will also track the status of the assigned tasks.
  • explore the WebAccess environment and access the GroupWise Mailbox and documents using WebAccess.
  • create and use rules to manage your mailbox and resource reservations. You will also assign access rights to other users.
Hardware Requirements

The following requirements are for the server:
  • Server class Pentium III, but Pentium IV recommended.
  • 10 GB Hard Disk.
  • Valid TCP/IP networking IP addresses.
  • 256 MB RAM minimum; 512 MB RAM recommended.
  • PS/2 or serial mouse.
  • CD-ROM drive.

The following requirements are for the client workstations:

  • Pentium IV or faster processor.
  • 20 GB Hard Disk.
  • 256 MB RAM or more.
Software Requirements

The following requirements are for the server:

  • GroupWise 7.0.
  • NetWare 6.x (enough client licences for students in the classroom). You will also need the latest support pack installed.
  • Apache server for NetWare 6.x installed.
  • Valid IP address and domain names (an IP address, an IP address of a Domain Name Server, and the name of your domain).

The following requirements are for the client workstations:

  • Windows 2000/XP.
  • NetWare Client for Windows XP/ 2000 version 4.91 SP2 English.
