Macromedia Training Overview
Director 8.5: Web 3D (Windows) introduces you, through hands-on tasks, to the features and capabilities of the Director 8.5 3D world.
Prerequisites
To be successful at this course, you must be familiar with the basic operation of the Windows operating system and possess fundamental knowledge of multimedia development. Prior to taking this course, you should also have taken the following courses:

Director 8.5: Web 3D (Windows) is an instructor-led course which provides hands-on exercises to provide you with program experience to meet the performance-based objectives of the course.
Hardware/Software Requirements
You will need
- An Intel Pentium II or equivalent class processor running Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME or NT.
- DirectX version 5.2 or higher.
- 128 MB system Random Access Memory (RAM).
- 8 MB video RAM for 16-bit usage on hardware accelerated 3D graphics.
- 16 MB video RAM for 24-bit usage on hardware accelerated 3D graphics.
- A Web browser.
- 60 MB of available disk space.
- A CD-ROM drive.
- A color monitor capable of 800 x 600 pixel resolution and 256–color display (higher resolution and color depth recommended).
- Direct Sound-compatible sound card.
- Macromedia Director 8.5.
- Macromedia Shockwave Player 8.5.
Performance-Based Objectives
Lesson objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Use the Director 3D authoring environment to create movies that incorporate 3D content.
- Create and publish an interactive 3D product demo.
- Develop a movie with a more realistic and appealing quality by incorporating animation and particle systems.
- Make your content more realistic by adding physical properties to a model and deliver your Director movies to a wide audience.
