Apple® Safari® 4.0: Introduction
Overview

You are familiar with computers and how they work. Computers have contributed to the rise and spread of the Internet, which has now become the driving force for networked societies around the globe. In this course, you will use Apple Safari 4.0 to take full advantage of all that the Internet has to offer.

Course Objective

You will use the tabbed browsing and snapback features to browse the web and access the information therein. Apple Safari provides you with a user-friendly interface and enhanced security features for a safe and secure browsing experience.

Prerequisites

This course assumes that you are familiar with using personal computers. You should be comfortable in the Apple OS and windowing environment and be able to use and manage information on your computer. Specifically, you should be able to launch and close programs, navigate to information stored on the computer, manage files and folders, and select text.


Target Student

This course is designed for persons with a basic understanding of computers and the Apple OS, and who need to learn how to use Apple Safari to navigate the Internet.

Delivery Method

Instructor led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured hands-on activities.


Performance-Based Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • explore and familiarize themselves with user interface elements of Apple Safari 4.0.
  • browse websites using Apple Safari.
  • search for and download information from the web using Apple Safari.
  • communicate with other online users over the web.
  • manage information from the web using bookmarks and save web pages on their local system.
  • configure privacy and security settings in Apple Safari.
