Overview

Welcome to Microsoft Outlook 2002 Level 3 . This course is the third in a series of three Microsoft Outlook 2002 courses. By now, you are actively using Microsoft Outlook as your personal information manager. You send, receive, and manage email messages; schedule and manage appointments, events, and meetings; and create and manage contacts, tasks, and notes, as well as customize your Outlook environment and work with public folders. By taking this course, you will expand upon the concepts you learned in both previous courses, Outlook 2002 Level 1 and Outlook 2002 Level 2 . You will be introduced to new concepts with an opportunity to apply them.

Prerequisites

To ensure your success, we recommend you first take the following courses or have equivalent knowledge:

Target Student

This course is designed for persons interested in learning Outlook 2002's additional features. It is also intended for those preparing to pursue certification as a Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) in Outlook 2002.

Certification

Outlook 2002: Level 3 is one of a series of courseware titles that addresses Microsoft Office Specialist (Office Specialist) skill sets. The Office Specialist program is for individuals who use Microsoft's business desktop software and who seek recognition for their expertise with specific Microsoft products. Certification candidates must pass one or more product proficiency exams in order to earn Office Specialist certification

Hardware Requirements

  • Pentium 133 MHz or higher processor required for all operating systems.
  • 64 MB of RAM recommended minimum for Windows 2000 Professional. We recommend a Pentium 2 or higher processor with 128 MB of RAM.
  • 600 MB of free hard-disk space.
  • Either a local CD-ROM drive or access to a networked CD-ROM drive.
  • A mouse, or compatible pointing device.
  • VGA or higher-resolution monitor; Super VGA recommended.
  • An Internet connection with access to the World Wide Web is necessary to complete some tasks throughout the book.
  • Access to a Microsoft Exchange Server.
Software Requirements

  • Windows 2000 Professional. This book was written using the Windows 2000 Professional operating system. Using this book with other operating systems may affect how the activities work.
  • Microsoft Office XP Professional—see the Class Setup Requirements for instructions.
  • Microsoft Exchange, Internet SMTP/POP3, IMAP4, or other MAPI-compliant messaging software required for email features.
  • An installed printer driver. (Printers are not required; however, each PC must have an installed printer driver to use Print Preview.)
