Overview

You have already worked on personal computers. Now, you would like to share information stored in a central location with other users. In this course, you will use Notes databases to do just that.

Course Objectives

You will examine the functions of Notes databases, their ease of operation, and security management.

Prerequisites

To ensure your success, we recommend you first take the following course or have equivalent knowledge:
  • Introduction to Personal Computers Using Windows XP
Target Student:

This course is designed for a person who will use Notes databases on the job to share information stored in one central location, and who may or may not use Notes as their email package.

Performance-Based Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • log in to the Notes client environment and access the Notes database.
  • work with database documents.
  • modify database documents.
  • enhance database documents by creating tables, hotspots, and sections.
  • create folders and arrange database documents in folders.
  • search database documents.
  • work remotely with the Notes database.

  • Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows XP.
Hardware Requirements


  • An Intel or Pentium processor
  • A monitor that will support 800 x 600 resolution or higher
  • A Windows-compatible mouse
  • 275 MB of hard disk space
  • 128 MB of RAM is required; 256 MB of RAM is recommended
  • Either a local CD-ROM drive, DVD drive, or access to a networked CD-ROM drive
  • A local area network (LAN) adapter that works with any network operating system that supports Notes
