GroupWise 6.5: Level 2
Overview

Students will probably get the most out of this course if they want to learn how to use the advanced features of GroupWise to work with mail messages, as well as documents, tasks, appointments, WebAccess, and Rules.

Prerequisites

To ensure students' success with this course, we recommend that they first take the following courses or have equivalent knowledge: GroupWise 6.5: Level 1and Internet Explorer 6.0: Introduction.

Performance-Based Objectives

  • Customize GroupWise according to their preferences.
  • Use GroupWise Instant Messenger and participate in a discussion thread by using a shared folder.
  • Create, share and manage documents, and use GroupWise WebPublisher.
  • Use workflows to route, perform, and track tasks.
  • Work with mail and documents using the Web Access interface.
  • Create and use Rules to automate email responses, manage resource reservations, and set access rights.

Hardware/Software Requirements

You will need:

  • Server class Pentium II or better system minimum; Pentium III or better recommended.
  • 5 GB of hard disk space.
  • Valid TCP/IP networking IP addresses.
  • 256 MB of RAM minimum; 512 MB of RAM recommended.
  • NetWare 6.x (enough client licences for students in the classroom). You will also need the latest support pack installed.
  • GroupWise 6.5.
  • NetWare Enterprise Web server for NetWare 6 installed (comes with NetWare 6).
  • A PS/2 or serial mouse.
  • A CD-ROM drive.
  • Valid IP address and domain names (an IP address, an IP address of a Domain Name Server, and the name of your domain).
  • Pentium 300 Mhz or faster processor.
  • 128 MB of RAM or more.
  • Windows XP or Windows 2000.
  • NetWare Client for Windows XP/2000.
  • Microsoft Word 2000 or newer and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.
  • 60 MB of free disk space after installation of all software except the GroupWise client (standard installation).
