Overview
This course, Excel 2002 Level 1, is the first course in a series. This course will give you the skills to create, edit, format, and print basic worksheets and charts in Excel.

You will create basic worksheets and charts.
Prerequisites
To ensure your success, we recommend you first take the following course or have equivalent knowledge:
- Windows 2000 : Introduction.
Target Student
Persons desiring to prepare to be a certified Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) in Excel, and who already have knowledge of Microsoft Windows 98 or above operating system, and desire to gain the skills necessary to create, edit, format, and print basic worksheets and charts in Excel.
Performance-Based Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- create a basic worksheet by entering text and values.
- work with cells and cell data by using a variety of moving
and copying techniques.
- perform calculations on data by using formulas, including
functions.
- change the appearance of worksheet data by using a variety
of formatting techniques.
- work with multiple worksheets by formatting, repositioning,
copying and moving, and adding and deleting worksheets within a workbook.
- create and modify charts.
- set the page display and printing options.
Certification
Microsoft
Excel 2002: Level 1 is one of a series of courseware titles that addresses Microsoft Office Specialist (Office Specialist) skill sets. The Office Specialist program is for individuals who use Microsoft's business desktop software and who seek recognition for their expertise with specific Microsoft products. Certification candidates must pass one or more product proficiency exams in order to earn Office Specialist certification.
Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3)
Excel 2002: Level 1 is one of four courseware titles that address the Module 2 (Key Applications) objectives of the Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) program. Modules 1 (Computing Fundamentals) and 3 (Living Online) objectives are addressed in other courseware titles. Certification candidates must pass three exams--one associated with each module--in order to earn IC3 certification

Platform Requirements
Hardware Requirements
- A Pentium 133 MHz or higher processor required for all operating
systems.
- A minimum
of 64 MB of RAM, recommended, for Windows 2000 Professional; in addition,
you should have 8 MB of RAM for each application running simultaneously. (Note:
Memory requirements may differ for other operating systems.)
- A minimum of 516 MB of free hard disk space. (Under Windows
2000, at least 4 MB of space must be available in the Registry.)
- Either a local CD-ROM drive or access to a networked CD-ROM
drive.
- A floppy-disk drive.
- A two-button mouse, an IntelliMouse, or compatible pointing
device.
- A VGA or higher-resolution monitor; Super VGA recommended.
- An installed printer driver.
- A sound card.
