Overview
WordPerfect Office 11: Level 1 is a hands-on instruction book that will introduce you to the basic elements of word processing.
Prerequisites
WordPerfect Office 11: Level 1 is designed for the student who has had no previous word processing experience but does have experience with Windows. Students who are not familiar with the Windows environment will probably want to first take the Content course Windows XP: Introduction
Performance-Based Objectives
- Identify WordPerfect 11 terminology and create, save, and close
a document.
- Open and edit a document by using the mouse, keyboard, and menu
choices.
- Enhance the appearance of a document with fonts and formatting,
and work with the Reveal Codes window.
- Modify text in a document by replacing text, reversing the last
change made to a document, and copying or moving text to a new location.
- Enhance paragraphs by creating and removing paragraph indents,
changing the justification of the text, and setting the line spacing for the
document.
- Set tabs by using the Ruler and create, modify, and format a table.
- Insert and delete manual page breaks and create headers and footers
in a document.
- Check a document for potential errors by using the Spell Checker,
identify alternate words by using the Thesaurus, and correct common typing
errors by using QuickCorrect.

Hardware/Software Requirements
You will need
- Personal computer with Pentium 166 MHz processor or equivalent.
- Minimum of 64 MB of RAM (128 MB recommended).
- 330 MB of free hard-disk space. Space requirement may vary by
configuration.
- Either a local CD-ROM drive or access to a networked CD-ROM drive.
- A two-button mouse, an IntelliMouse, or compatible pointing device.
- Super VGA, 16-bit color monitor supporting 800x600 or higher
resolution.
- An installed printer driver. (Printers are not required; however,
each PC must have an installed printer driver to use Print Preview.)
- A Custom Setup of WordPerfect Office 2002 Professional. See the
Class Requirements section for details.
- Windows XP Professional. This course was written using the Windows
XP Professional operating system with SP1 installed. WordPerfect Office 11
will run on Windows 2000 with SP3, Windows NT 4 with SP6a, Windows 98 SE or
Windows ME. However, using this course with other operating systems or configurations
may affect how the activities work.
