Overview

You know how to use Microsoft Word to create and format documents and newsletters. In this course, you'll learn how to use Word to create forms and long documents as well as how to make it easier to display and work with those forms and long documents by using macros and colloborating.

You will create, modify, and distribute forms, long documents, and Web pages.

Prerequisites

To ensure your success, we recommend you first take the following course or have equivalent knowledge:
  • Word 2002 Level 1
  • Word 2002 Level 2
Target Student
This course is designed for someone who has extensive computer and Internet experience and wants to learn the more advanced features of Word 2002. It is also intended for those preparing to pursue certification as Microsoft Office User Specialists (MOUS) in Word. .

Platform Requirements
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional.
Hardware Requirements

  • Pentium 133 MHz or higher processor required for all operating systems.
  • 64 MB of RAM recommended minimum for Windows 2000 Professional; in addition, you should have 8 MB of RAM for each application running simultaneously. (Note: Memory requirements may differ for other operating systems.)
  • 600 MB of free hard-disk space. (Under Windows 2000, at least 4 MB of space must be available in the Registry.)
  • Either a local CD-ROM drive or access to a networked CD-ROM driver for installation purposes.
  • A two-button mouse, an IntelliMouse, or compatible pointing device.
  • VGA or higher resolution monitor; Super VGA recommended.
  • A sound card.
  • A 9600 baud modem or higher. An Internet connection with access to the World Wide Web. The connection is necessary to complete some tasks and Web Tips throughout the book.
  • A Microsoft Exchange Server if you plan to key optional Activity 5–3 “Distributing the Document for Review.”
Software Requirements
  • Microsoft Office XP Professional—see the Class Setup Requirements for setup instructions.
  • An installed printer driver. (Printers are not required; however, each PC must have an installed printer driver to use Print Preview.)
  • Microsoft Exchange, Internet SMTP/POP3, IMAP4, or other MAPI-compliant messaging software required for email features if you plan to complete optional Activity 5–3“Distributing the Document for Review.”
