Students will learn advanced skills for working in Word 97.

Prerequisites

To ensure students’ success with this course, we recommend that they first take the following Content courses or have equivalent knowledge
  • Windows 95: Introduction
  • Word 97: Level 1 (Windows 95)
  • Word 97: Level 2 (Windows 95)

  • Use advanced techniques for working with styles.
  • Create and use automated templates and forms.
  • Enhance the look of a document by using drawings, clip art, and WordArt.
  • Create a master document, table of contents, and index.
  • Enhance documents by applying borders, and create and use bookmarks and cross-references.
  • Use highlights, comments, and versioning to edit and share documents online.

Hardware Requirements/software required to run this course


You will need
  • A minimum of 8 megabytes (MB) of Random Access Memory (RAM)
  • A minimum of 55 MB of hard-disk space to install Word and to copy data files
  • An IBM-compatible PC with an 80486SX or higher processor
  • Microsoft Windows 95
  • Microsoft Office 97
  • A VGA or higher display adapter (The EGA display adapter is not supported.)
  • A two-button mouse or IntelliMouse
  • A floppy-disk drive
  • A CD-ROM drive
  • Printers are not required, although you will need an installed printer driver
  • This course was developed using the Microsoft Office version of Word 97. If you use the stand alone version of Word 97, you might notice differences.
  • This course was written using the Windows 95 platform; however, the manufacturer’s documentation states that it can also be used with Windows NT.
