Adobe Training Description
In this course, you will learn professional techniques for obtaining consistent, predictable, high quality images from Photoshop. The course addresses color correction processes for each of the three primary uses of Photoshop—desktop printing, Web images, and preparing images for commercial printing. You will learn a balanced approach, starting with system calibration, through the scanning process, image enhancements, color correction, and exporting your image. You will also create traditional printed effects such as duotones and spot color overlays

Performance-Based Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify two contrasting approaches to handling color images.
- Calibrate your monitor, and use color management profiles to control the image display in Photoshop and for printing.
- Create a crisp line art image, use scanning software or Photoshop to look for telltale signs of problem images, and choose settings for converting a raw image from a digital camera to Photoshop format.
- Eliminate dust and scratches, suppress moiré patterns, and correct red-eye.
- Apply a Color by the Numbers approach using Curves adjustment layers to eliminate color casts, maximize the contrast in important regions of images, and ensure that important colors such as skin tones are correct.
- Make choices based on a specific image and printing conditions in order to get optimal quality rather than settling for mediocre results created with default settings.
- Apply techniques for improving sharpness without oversharpening or accentuating noise and other defects.
- Convert color images to grayscale, and add spot colors to images, both throughout the image as a duotone or as an accent color to selected areas
